Dr. Yoon received her Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the UCLA School of Dentistry (2006) and completed her Orthodontics Specialty Certificate and received her Masters in Oral Biology at the Loma Linda University Graduate Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics Program (2008). Her undergraduate training also began at UCLA and she completed her Bachelors in Science in Biology from Pacific Union College in Angwin, CA.

Dr. Yoon provides comprehensive orthodontic care for children, adolescent & adult patients. Aside from standard braces & appliances she continues to specialize her practice in adult multi-disciplinary orthodontic care, with an emphasis on aesthetic treatment. Dr. Yoon is an Invisalign Preferred Provider, and is certified for Lingual Orthodontics in both the American Orthodontics Harmony & 3-M Incognito Lingual Orthodontics Systems. She is currently an active member of the American Association of Orthodontics (AAO) and the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists (PCSO).

Dr. Yoon was awarded the National Institute of Health Dental Student Award in 2005. She completed a research fellowship with Dr. Marian Young at the National Institute of Health (NIH/NIDCR in Bethesda, Maryland) resulting in a publication in the Bone Journal on stem cell induction. Her publication in Gene Therapy resulted from her time working as a research associate at Sangamo Biosciences. She completed her Masters Thesis in Oral Biology on distraction osteogenesis. And during her time at UCLA Dental School she worked as a research assistant studying the treatment of maxillary deficiency with the induction of new bone. She highly values continuing education and hopes to continue her involvement in academia & research.

Dr. Yoon is a San Francisco Bay Area native. Her interest and career path in healthcare stems directly from her family upbringing. Her mother who is an RN at John Muir Medical Center, later earned her PhD in Eastern Medicine and Acupuncture and opened her practice in Pleasant Hill. Her father is a retired engineer and currently a translator for Korean Language Services. Her older sister and youngest brother are Physicians (Dermatology and Family Medicine) and her middle brother is in graduate school to be a Pharmacist. Dr. Yoon grew up actively involved in her local community throughout the years. She served as a volunteer at the Berkeley Free Dental Clinic. She was also a longtime volunteer for the John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek and was subsequently awarded the John Muir Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship in 1998 and the Edna Hayward Scholarship in 2004 by the Mt. Diablo Medical Center. She was a violinist for the Young Artists Symphony Orchestra and the Oakland Youth Symphony Orchestra.

In her free time she enjoys experimenting in the kitchen putting a healthy twist on recipes, yoga, hiking, spending time with family and friends and continuously learning about health & wellness and integrating these concepts into her practice.
